4th Fall Session - More Movie Making and Visiting Web Sites

Good Afternoon! We need to continue editing the movie while others visit links on the blog and then write a review of the website. Refer to the last post for what you are required to include on the write up. Remember to RIGHT CLICK the link on the blog and OPEN in NEW WINDOW, so you can visit the blog while you write up your review in word.

1. Read this post on the blog!
2. Look at the Previous Post for the write up outline.
3. Open up a link by RIGHT CLICKING the link.
4. Visit the link and work through all the activities on that link.
5. Open a new Word Doc and write a review (use the previous post #4 a-e to help you write it.)
6. Save the document to your folder on the network as "Link Write Up" (if you already wrote one then name your next one "Link Write Up #2" and so on).

3rd Fall Session - Movie Making Time

Good Afternoon! Today we must work on the movie. Check out the schedule posted on the Wiki page created just for that. The others not working on the Movie may visit any of the links on this blog. I encourage you to stay with a game or program long enough to learn something from it. Today's agenda:
1. Read the Blog (you are doing that right now)
2. Visit the Wiki to see our Movie Schedule
3. Check out any link on this Blog and "play" around long enough to learn something from the program.
4. at 4:40 today OPEN a NEW WORD DOC and do the following:
a. Type the NAME/TITLE of the link/web site you visitied today and Copy/past the LINK you visited at the top of the page
b. Describe what a person can do at this link; what might you learn or how is it fun? (2 sentences)
c. Answer this question: Did you like the site - WHY or WHY NOT (1-2 sentences)
d. Should other students visit or use this link. Who is the link best for elementary, middle and/or high school students? (1 sentence)
e. SAVE this document as "LINK WRITE UP" to your personal folder on network
5. SHUT DOWN computers at 4:55

Movie Making Finishing Touches

Today we need to develop a schedule to finish our movie and determine what else you might to learn from this Vision Session.
1. Read our blog
2. As a group we will go to our WIKI and click on the page entitled "Movie Schedule." We will need to edit the page and put your names in the dates/time slots that you intend to work with Mrs. Poulin on the movie.
3. On the WIKI we will create a new page to list some other things you might want to learn about while in this Vision session.
4. Work on Movie
5. Visit web sites newly posted to this site. Maybe someone will create something we can post to the blog at the end of today.

Fun with VIRTUAL ART!

During our first Monday Session of our continued TECHCAMP Students played on Art Zone sponored by National Gallery of Art (NGA). Here are 3 examples of what they created in minutes. We also viewed our video as it stands right now. We have some work to do on the video, although it appears they enjoy visiting the new sites listed on this blog rather than working in the movie!

Welcome back to Part II of TECHCAMP!!

I am so glad you decide to come back and "play" on the computer again. We MUST finish our video that is our MAIN PURPOSE over the next 6 Mondays. However . . . .
I did do some more searching for cool websites for students to use to LEARN from not just PLAY on. We are still in school and so LEARNING from our PLAY would be expected - right?

Here is your schedule for today's session
1. Check the Blog - you are doing that right now! :)
2. Check the WIKI - Your page is still there BUT I've added a NEW PAGE for ALL of US to EDIT together - Technology Presentation page - go to it and ADD/CHANGE it up so we can prepare to talk about what we've done at the Visions TECHCAMP this year.
3. Go to this National Geographic Blog, read through it, search around it, make a comment if you want to
4. Work on Movie with Mrs. Poulin - small sections at time - adding text, transitions, and sound.
5. Visit any other links on our blog that you have not visited before or look in the NEW LINKS
