Friday's Schedule

It's pretty touch to play on the computer for 2.5 hours! You are doing great with trying to reach 100 sites by the end of the week. There are still more "Games to Change to the World" that we can add to the site. We did not get through the full list.
12:30 - 12:45 - Group Introduction to schedule; review the Delicious Site
12:45 - 1:30 - Each of you add TWO more sites to the Delicious account by doing a Delicious Search, using our Wiki or Blog or the Games to the Change the World list (link is on the blog) or a site that you know of (show Mrs. Poulin the site before you add it to the account)
1:30 - 2:15 -Choice time - any site saved on the Delicious Account.
2:15-2:30 - Blog comment - which site(s) did you like best and say if will you visit the Delicious Site after this class.
2:30 - Shut down and power off the computers

Thursday's Schedule

Great job yesterday!! I think having a break worked out well!! We made it to just over 50 sites! (I added the 2 games that Moriah and Heather played and 3 other sites that someone tried to access today but it wouldn't work on the computer.)

12:30-12:45 - Introduction with whole group
12:45 - 1:15 - Task 1: In parnters play a "Game to Change the World" to and then add it to the Delicious account. If you have time you can play another one.
1:15 - 1:45 - Task 2: Do a Delicious search for specific types of sites we want to add to our Delicious site.
1:45-2:00 - Break
2:00-2:30 - Task 3: Choose any site we have already saved to the Delicious site that you have not yet tried and would like to (no playing Toy Theater or Fun Brain).
2:30 - 2:40 - Review the Delicious account
2:40 - 2:50 - Post a comment to this blog post.

Wednesday's Schedule

As you read this entry you'll notice our new and improved schedule. Let's try to add at least 24 sites today. This means each of you will need to review (or play with) at least 2 sites.

12:30-12:45 Introduction -Mrs. Poulin goes over the schedule and tasks

12:45 - 1:15 Task 1 - Review a specific content area site and add it to the Delicious site - use the Newest links to the right on this page or the wiki page to find some sites

1:15 - 1:45 Task 2 - Review another site of your choice from the blog or wiki page that has NOT been added to the Delicious site yet and then add it to the Delicious site

1:45- 2:00 Break (no matter when the break starts it ends at 2:00)

2:00 - 2:30 - Task 3 - Visit any site on the blog, wiki page or Delicious site to just play around on
2:30 -2:40 Group Review of Delicious site with Mrs. Poulin

2:40 - 2:50 - Post a comment to this post, log off and shut down computer

Tuesday's Schedule and Sites to Visit

You all did GREAT yesterday! We saved 11 sites to the Delicious list for teachers and students to use!! Do you think we can reach 100 sites by Friday? For Tuesday our goal is between 10-15 sites. (Then we will need to start averaging 20 a day to reach 100 by Friday.)

Today's goal will be to review/play with two sites and save them both to the Delicious site. The first sites you visit today will be centered around sites that teachers and/or students can use to make life easier or to help create presentations. With a parnter you will visit one of the sites I have listed below. The 2nd site you visit can be an educational game/fun site from this blog (make sure someone else has not already saved it to the Delicious site). You can continue to do this with a partner or work alone.

Things to Remember (TTR) - Use RIGHT CLICK to open Delicious in a NEW TAB. Use RIGHT CLICK to open any website you are reviewing in a NEW TAB. Keep Blog and Delicious site open so you can keep going back. You can hit REFRESH every now and again to see new posts in either sites.

Your schedule:
1. Read the blog - you are doing that right now! (read the post just under this one to see your graph)
2. Answer the poll (survey) below, if it works or do it at the END of class.
3. Partner up (Mrs. Poulin has sat you next to a partner) and visit the site assigned to your group - the links are posted on the SummerScapesTechCamp Wiki. (right click the link to open).
4. Play around and learn about the site, then add it to the Delicious site.
5. Visit another site from the link list on this blog on your own or with a partner. Add it to the Delicious site.
6. Reflect on what you did today by posting a comment to this blog post.

This is the graph from your "Have you ever . . ." excel survey. It is not very easy to see here, but I did finally get it to work correctly. I only needed to use the title cells and the TOTALS, not all of the individual cells under your names. After yesterday, however, these results have already changed!

Welcome to Tech Camp 09 - Monday's Schedule

I hope you have come ready to surf, play and of course learn! Each afternoon when you arrive you will sign on to the computers and read my latest post to the blog.
